Marshall Mcluhan Questionnaire

For my contribution to the Marshall Mcluhan Wiki page I wanted to explore different forms of media as Mcluhan states in the book " The medium, or process of our time-electric technology is reshaping and restructuring patterns of personal life... its forcing us to reconsider and re-evaluate practically every though... Everything is changing".

To test parts of Mcluhan's theory I created a questionnaire and surveyed ten different people. ( The results are shown below)

I Won!!!

A few weeks ago I received an email from my college tutor telling me that one of my films had been shortlisted for five of the "Young Liverpool Film Awards"! and my film would be screened in FACT  on the 23rd of October as part of the Liverpool biennial ! When I found out I was over the moon. I attended the night and to my shock my film won "The Audience Choice Award" this was voted by everyone who attended the event. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and seeing my film on the "big screen" has gave me more ambition to full-fill my dream of becoming a director ! I was also thrilled to find out I won numerous prizes including a year membership at FACT and film studies books to help with my course! (Here are some images from the night and my  film is also shown below.)

Marshall Mcluhan

Today my group was given the task to create a wiki about Marshall Mcluhan's book - The Media Is The Massage. We chose to use the wiki site "Wet Paint" because after trying a few different sites we found this professional but still pretty simple and easy to use.

Charles Leadbetter - We Think

Today we looked at Charles Leadbetter and specifically his book "We Think"
"More people than ever can pariticpate in culture, contributing their ideas, views, information.
The web allows them not just to publish but to share and connect, to collaborate and when the conditions are right, to create, together, at scale.
That is why the web is a platform for mass creativity and innovation.
We Think published in March 2008 is an exploration of what that will mean for our culture, the way we work, government, science and business."

The main topic was to create idea's based around a three minute film about culture in Liverpool.  My final three idea's where "More to music than the Beatles", "The rivalry between Liverpool and Everton" and " The Reason's for Liverpool's Diversity ".
